After failing a drug test, Mohd was arrested and forced into a treatment center in Malaysia.
As part of his treatment, Mohd was beaten with bricks, forced to crawl through animal feces and swallow dirty water, and caned by a religious teacher who cursed him and told him he was “worse than an animal.” Mohd said the center offered no form of recognizable addiction treatment, instead it was a “torture center.”

More than 1,600 Palestinian prisoners have agreed to end their hunger strike in exchange for concessions by Israel, including a modification to its practice of detention without charge or trial.
