Greenpeace India's campaign to free MD and environmental activist
An Indian doctor, Dr. Harihar Patel, and an environmental activist, Ramesh Agrawal, are in custody for exposing an environmental violation in the Indian state of Chattisgarh. Mr. Agrawal and Dr. Patel exposed irregularities in the environmental clearance process for a coal-fired thermal power plant being built in Raigarh District. Several appeals for bail have been denied. Greenpeace India is urging organisations and individuals to write to the Chattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh, and ask him to free the activists and investigate those responsible for the alleged false charges against them.http://www.greenpeace.in/take-action/support-brave-activists-fax-raman-singh.php
