This week, a new e-book appeared called “Doctors who Torture: The Pursuit of Justice”. In this book, author Steven Miles, Professor of Medicine and Bioethics of the University of Minnesota, describes the history of “torture doctors” after World War II.
The book surveys the global involvement of doctors in torture, defines torture medicine, looks at the codes to address this and describes the complete impunity of torture doctors during the cold war. It also outlines the human rights movement that is now holding doctors accountable.
